Manuel Higueras

Manuel Higueras is world famous for his 'hyperrealist' style. Born in Malaga, Spain, in 1973, he began painting at the age of 6 years, and attended Malaga’s Fine Art School.

His first exhibition was in 1994, when he was only 21 years old. This exhibition travelled to a number of cities around Spain with great success.

Higueras’ paintings are termed hyper-realism or magical realism as they are painted with an almost photo-real take on the subject, using vibrant colours and strong compositions. He has a preference for still-life, or equestrian subjects owing to his love of horses.

Throughout his career Higueras has won many competitions at national and international level, and held numerous exhibitions in several countries.
