Fine art for sale, professional ART & FRAME restoration services

A warm welcome to Northampton Fine Art

A piece of Northamptonshire’s history

Northampton Fine Art was born in Northampton way back in 1999, when owner Neil was first picture framing in his garden shed in Primrose Hill, a terrace of town houses in Northampton.
Once customers' work was completed, it was hung on the wall, alongside a few pieces that were for sale and this soon became known as 'Primrose Gallery' to the neighbourhood clients and well known artists such as Melissa Dring, Michael Little, and Martin Taylor.

In 2001, Neil opened Primrose art gallery in Derngate in Northampton town centre and swiftly gained a superb reputation for stocking original artwork, whilst also offering high quality picture framing. The range included original printmakers' prints, paintings, and a selection of quality studio ceramics and glassware.
Due to lease ending, the gallery closed at that address in 2006.

After four years at the ArtBase in Clare Street, Neil opened a gallery in Kingsthorpe, Northampton and then another in Stow-on-the-Wold, Gloucestershire.
In 2016 when the lease in Kingsthorpe came to an end the opportunity arose to move the gallery to Thrapston where it remains today. Primrose Gallery has recently changed ownership with the new owners taking the gallery forward into the exciting next chapter.

Today Neil has semi retired, focusing on sales of unusual and collectable pieces both by appointment from his home gallery in Hardingstone, and at outside exhibitions.

Bringing the art to you

At Northampton Fine Art, we appreciate that purchasing fine art and original paintings can be quite a decision, and one often best chosen when your family or colleagues are around. So, to make the decision easier we offer home consultations – bringing pieces, or a selection of works, to the comfort of your own surroundings. This way, you can see how things look in-situ, check sizes and, most importantly, see if the artworks suit the surroundings as well as how it is to live with the pieces in the space. Moreover, all original artwork for sale can be collected, delivered or shipped internationally.
